Extraordinary real time simulation

NORAD and Boston Dynamics (www.bostondynamics.com) has formed a relationship to explore opportunities for using advanced software, named DI-Guy, to add remarkable life-like humans to real time simulation training for clients within Defence, Police and Emergency Management.

DI-Guy can be used as an addition to the classic ground and urban combat training within Defense. Organizing training session with real human soldiers of different nationalities and training in real life stress situations can be both cumbersome and expensive to arrange. Hence establishing simulated training situations like this with DI-Guy consisting of defense groups of different nationalities working together to protect humans and assets on missions abroad can be an appealing alternative. DI-Guy comes complete with an extensive library of 3D human models, artificial intelligence, advanced photorealistic texture and multiple levels of detail to make this kind of training as life like as possible.

In addition DI-Guy can be used for peacekeeping and crowd control training, law-enforcement training (e.g. used for training Police personnel in the correct use of the Taser gun) as well as emergency response training. We see the training issue becoming increasingly important and we are glad to have the opportunity to present a new cost effective and valuable additional tool in the training of personnel for the protection of humans and assets, says Klaus Langgaard Thomsen.
